How to arrive in Bogotá?
The El Dorado International Airport (BOG) is located just 15 kilometers from Bogotá’s city center and receives flights from many different airlines and international destinations. How to get around in Bogotá?
The city’s most important neighborhoods—like La Candelaria, the Zona Rosa, and Parque de la 93—are easily explored on foot. Walking is simply the best way to get to know these areas and their many attractions.
However, to reach these neighborhoods or for making longer trips, we recommend taking advantage of the city’s convenient Transmilenio, a bus service that connects most of the city. Additionally, Bogotá is great for biking: the city features an extremely extensive bike path network called the Ciclorrutas de Bogotá.
Driving is not necessary for exploring Bogotá, thanks to the previously mentioned transport options. The city’s heavy traffic can be inconvenient and finding a parking spot can prove difficult. However, should you need a car to get to the city or explore the surrounding regions, you can rest assured that car rental services are available, and you can try your luck with street parking or the city’s public parking garages.
