We’re currently living in an era full of milestones in Science and Technology. We even are exploring the outer space. But we’ve been through a very similar period not long ago: we’re talking, as you may have guessed, of the Age of Enlightenment.
Almost all of the 18th century was a time for the greatest treaties on Philosophy and Science, and extraordinary pieces of Art and Music. That’s why is often called the Century of Reason or Century of Lights. Think of the names of the people who literally changed the world back then: Newton, Mozart, Jacques-Louis David, Antonio Canova, Nelson, Rousseau…
The 18th century also faced important political and social changes, as the American Revolution or the French Revolution.
With all these inspiring trends going on during this century, why not try getting some inspiration out of it?
The main artistic movement of the Age of Enlightenment was Neoclassicism. The rediscovery of Pompeii and Herculaneum (some ancient roman towns destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, in Italy) made artists take a look back into the Classic world. This revival focused on keeping it simple and classic. Elegance, balance and symmetry are some of the most recognizable characteristics of the movement.
So just let it flow: keep it simple, focus on your goals, do not overload your attendees with superfluous information that may distract them from what really matters. Choose a clean deco that helps highlight the most important corners or messages for your attendees. Picking pale colors, especially white, could be a fantastic opportunity to emphasize what you need to transmit your attendees.
The simpler it gets, the easier for your attendees to remember your messages.
About F&B, the classics are always a superb choice. Sometimes it becomes a real surprise to come across some classical dish you don’t find around anymore. Think of an original presentation and get ready to impact your attendees.
