Dragons and white walkers, Lannisters and Starks… Winter is not the only thing coming: the finale season of the worldwide success tv show ‘Game of Thrones’ is also about to happen. Based on the best sellers by George R Martin ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’, the show is facing the final season, developing the very expected outcome of all the stories and characters.
As surprising it may sound, a Medieval inspired fantasy universe has won hearts all around the globe and huge audiences follow with bated breath the ordeals of these loved or hated protagonists. The show has successfully built these characters up with their flairs and their flaws, so that anyone can easily identify himself or herself with the undoubtedly charismatic Jon Snow, the evil Cersei Lannister, the reckless Arya Stark, the powerful Daenerys Targaryen, the ingenious Tyrion Lannister, the scheming Sansa Stark, the faithful Brienne de Tarth, the gifted Samwell Tarly or the masterful Jaime Lannister.
As usual, we help you to take advantage of this Game of Thrones fever so your attendees take home unforgettable memories from your thematic event.
First of all, you should know that our NH Collection Cáceres Palacio de Oquendo hosted some of the most popular actors and actresses of the show, as some scenes regarding the season 7 were filmed in the Spanish region of Cáceres. John Bradley-West (Samwell Tarly), Nicolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) or Jerome Flynn (Bronn) or Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) stayed, as some of the crew members, in our hotel.
Note that NH Collection Cáceres Palacio de Oquendo used to be a 16th century palace with a stunning stone façade. It has been converted into a modern hotel with 86 comfortable and fully equipped rooms with fabulous views over unique historical sites such as Plaza de San Juan and the Arab wall. It’s just a short walk away from the historical walls that surrounds the beautiful city of Cáceres, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The filming recreated King’s Landing, the capital of Westeros in Cáceres. Its towers, cathedrals and churches full of history were the perfect movie set. Los Barruecos (Malpartida de Cáceres) and the castle of Trujillo, two nearby spots, were also featured in the seventh season.
So, wouldn’t it be a great idea to include on your attendees’ agenda the chance to visit the sites used for ‘Game of Thrones’? Imagine a fun teambuilding treasure hunt where your attendees strengthen their bounds by finding different objects with a special meaning related to the tv show’s universe. You can organize teams inspired in the houses of ‘Game of Thrones’ giving each one personalized tasks. Your attendees will for sure think about staying a few more days in order to visit all the historical sites.
But let’s go back to our hotel, which will provide superb scenery for your event. We offer 3 modern meeting rooms with capacity of up to 130 people. Keep in mind our pleasant courtyard, that holds all possibilities: an open-air meeting room, a corner to disconnect or conduct networking, the area to serve your delicious Tempting Break or a distinguished terrace for a late cocktail. Nevertheless, focus on your theme. Imagine a customized Tempting Break with the coat of arms from the Game of Throne Houses printed on your cake or pastries with the silhouettes of the dragons. Or maybe a décor inspired by the medieval world of the show, with tents and banners of the different houses. Just let your imagination fly free – just like one of Daenery’s dragons -, because our team will be there to make it happen.
If winter is coming, you better count on your allies: let NH Hotel Group be one.
