Yellow, not just for flowers

Yellow is a striking color. It can be associated with the sunrise and sunset, falling leaves in autumn, cute baby ducklings, tropical fish, delicious fruit, and so much more. Using yellow for your event is sure to be a hit due to its high visibility and uplifting nature. Read below to see how meeting and event planners can use this special color to their advantage:

A deep color under the surface

The color yellow makes us feel hope, happiness, and friendship, but can also inspire deep thinking. These are all great things to keep in mind when using this special color. For example, at a serious conference on banking or finance, the color yellow might not be appropriate. However, in common zones and relaxation points, it could help uplift attendees’ spirits, get them thinking, and facilitate networking. Yellow has to go in just the right spot to be effective. Try a yellow cake or cocktail!

A shade for every occasion

Many things in nature come in yellow: flowers like sunflowers and daffodils, foods like bananas, lemons, pineapples… Keeping this in mind, the shade of yellow you use for your event is very important. Go with something natural, as a tone that is too bright might make guests uncomfortable. There are so many shades to choose from: darker tones like gold, Dijon mustard, and khaki, or lighter tones like jasmine, peach, and chartreuse. Of course, if you want to shock and surprise guests, bright yellows like lemon-lime will add a fun feel.

Caution: yellow

There is a reason why traffic agents, school buses, and street signs use yellow: it is highly visible. To draw attention to and highlight the most important aspects of your meeting or presentation, consider using touches of yellow, yellow signs, or yellow objects. It will provide a contrast with the rest of the room and grab guests’ attention, even helping facilitate movement and flow within an event. Our tip: don’t use too much of the color or it will overwhelm attendees. Still, yellow is a risk worth taking, as attendees will love this beautiful color and the effort planners put into getting it just right. Yellow string lights for a romantic, enchanting feel.
