The stadium

Construction in Milan's San Siro district began in 1925 and the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium opened the following year with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. Renovations have gradually expanded the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and today it has 80,000 seats spread over three tiers. The dimensions of the playing field are 105x68m and the stadium features 256 floodlights for evening matches, as well as underground heating for the pitch to allow winter fixtures to be played.

Giuseppe Meazza Stadium museum and tours

The Giuseppe Meazza Stadium includes a museum which provides an in depth history of both the Inter Milan and Associazione Calcio Milan clubs as well as displaying the trophies that these teams have won. The players' jerseys, historical statues and other club artefacts are also on display. Admission to the museum is seven euros.
Alternatively, you can visit the museum as part of a stadium tour. The tour takes you to the dressing rooms as well as to the stands and through the 'Tunnel of Champions' and onto the pitch itself. The museum and Milan football stadium tour tickets are 17 euros for individuals and group tickets are 10-14 euros.
Allow one or two hours for a visit to the club museum and a further 30-40 minutes if you want to include the option of a stadium tour. To reach Giuseppe Meazza Stadium take the M1 metro to the Piazzale Lotto station or the M5 to San Siro Stadium. Alternatively, you can take the number 16 tram to Monte Velino-San Siro.
