The time has come to enjoy a wonderful family vacation, and Valencia could be the perfect place for it. But be warned: you’ll have to come more than once to this fantastic city, as there are so many things to do that you will want to repeat.

The favorite activity for the little ones in the family, as well as the teenagers, is going to the beach. You will have plenty of options, such as Gandía or Cullera, which are located a few kilometers away from the capital, and the kids will love playing in the sand and enjoying the waves.

Paella with kids

You can’t go to Valencia and not have a paella. The best option for it is going to La Albufera and enjoy a delicious rice in one of the restaurants of the area. After lunch, you can take a ride on a boat and see the sunset.

But if what you are looking for if a great paella in the capital itself, in a kid-friendly restaurant, you should go to Flor de Valencia, in Avenida Cardenal Benlloch, 22. Here you will find a great example of Mediterranean cuisine along with some incredible rice dishes.

La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias

If you have followed our last recommendation for lunch, take time to go and visit La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (the City of Arts and Sciences). The restaurant is near and it offers clients free parking for 2 hours.

Kids will absolutely enjoy this interactive museum. They will be able to touch, listen, smell, taste, see…. An unique experience! By the way, since you are there, don’t forget to visit the Aquarium. It will be yet another rewarding experience. L'Oceanogràfic is the biggest aquarium in Europe, and it replicates the most important marine ecosystems of the world.

Older kids and teenagers will enjoy going to one of the many IMAX screenings. The films are extremely realistic, as well as interesting.

The city’s Theme Parks

In Valencia’s Capital there are 3 free theme parks. They are perfect for small kids and can be accessed with pets. Swings and rides at Mortadelo y Filemón park, Gulliver Park or Snow White Park will be very cheap and fun options.

The parks are very well equipped, with slides, swings, mini-golf, a giant chess board or even a skating rink… Here the kids will play for hours.

Bioparc

The Parque de Cabecera, near Mislata, deserves a special mention. It has over 300,000m2 dedicated to play areas. It has a Pirate Ship, a wonderful garden, and a delightful pond with ducks and swans… Located here is Bioparc, the ultimate zoo.

Bioparc offers an immersive experience that will allow you to understand different habitats such as the African Savannah, the equatorial forests, the African Wetlands or the island of Madagascar. A full outdoor experience that kids and teens will enjoy.

You will have to visit again

Valencia has a lot to offer, and enjoying it with kids is a very special way to do so. This time, we have taken you around amazing places, but keep in mind that there are plenty more places to enjoy the perfect family vacation.
