Mexico City

Mexico City is one of our favorite destinations thanks to all the unique events that go on throughout the month. Día de Muertos, a rich expression of Mexican tradition, takes place at the beginning of the month and features parties and celebrations in honor of those who have passed. Corona Capital Music Festival is a November treat for rock and alternative music lovers while the Fiesta de Santa Cecilia, in honor of the patron saint of musicians, is an all-around celebration of music.

The weather is also delightful during November in Mexico City, averaging daily high and low temperatures of 23ºC and 7ºC. This makes November a perfect time to move around the city taking in some of its many iconic sights, which include Chapultepec Park (an ecological space that also features several museums) and Zócalo, the city’s main square, encompassing many historical buildings and sites.

In Tenerife you can also experience the striking views of Teide National Park, named after the Mount Teide volcano (the highest point in Spain). Other available attractions include swimming or scuba diving at the many gorgeous beaches available through the islands or exploring their charming towns and cities, like Teror in Gran Canaria or San Cristóbal de la Laguna in Tenerife.

Marseille, the oldest city in France, carries a delightful historic charm. The Old Port, for example, perhaps the most iconic landmark of Marseille, offers beautiful coastal views and many restaurants and markets. Three reasons to travel in November

1) Escape the cold. If the winter temperatures are already starting to be felt in your hometown, find a warmer location where to travel in November. We have highlighted destinations both in the Americas (Mexico City and Havana) and in Europe (the Canary Islands and Valencia) that boast of great weather through November.

2) Fewer crowds mean easier access. November is far removed from the peak touristic summer crowds in many destinations, including major European cities. If you’d like to go on guided tours during your holiday or visit many museums, November is a great time to do so.

3) The holiday charms! The opening of Christmas markets throughout Europe means that the festive spirit can already be felt and offers a great opportunity to get started on your holiday shopping.

Where to travel in November as a couple?

Marseille, with its coastal charms and historic ambience, is a wonderful city to explore with your partner. Go on a walk by the Old Port for gorgeous views of the Mediterranean Sea and stop at one of its many amazing restaurants for a romantic dinner.

Venice is a similarly charming destination to visit as a couple. Take advantage of the touristic low season in November and go on a more intimate gondola ride and visit some of the city’s beautiful museums, like the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.

What are the best places to go in November with kids?

The Christmas Markets, which start opening in November, at destinations like Vienna and Budapest, make them some of the best places to vacation in November with the whole family. As we have pointed out, they are filled with holiday spirit and Christmas traditions that are great for young children.

On the other hand, if your kids are fond of beaches or of nature, consider a Caribbean vacation in Cancún. Its gorgeous beaches, national parks, great climate, and comparatively fewer crowds offer a great change of pace for a November holiday.
