What to see in the Eternal City

First on our must-see list in Rome is the former gladiatorial arena, the Colosseum, and the nearby Roman Forum, where you’ll get a glimpse of life in Roman times. From here, a 20-minute walk will take you past ancient ruins and Trajan’s Column to the beautiful Piazza Venezia. Sample Authentic Rome

Get an authentic taste of Rome in Trastevere, an area full of typical Roman restaurants offering local cuisine, as well as wine bars, craft breweries, and pop-ups with dishes from up-and-coming chefs. If you want a lively atmosphere, head to Campo de’ Fiori, bursting with restaurants and bars, but for simple fare with a history, choose Sant’Angelo, the former Jewish Ghetto of Rome, where you’ll find traditional dishes like fried artichokes as well as fusion cuisine.  Lastly, why not do as the locals do, and peruse Rome’s famous food markets on Via Cola di Rienzo.
