It is not just train and technic lovers who will relish an opportunity to visit the Trainworld Museum; this is a museum that offers a little something for everyone. Dedicated to showcasing the past, present, and future of train travel, this new museum - opened in 2015 - is home to some 22 locomotive trains, along with more than a thousand items related to train travel. This museum tells the tale of railway travel from Belgium and across the world, looking back to the earliest trains and looking forward to see what train travel might look like in the not too distant future. Entry to the museum costs 10.00€ if you're aged between 26 and 65, and 7.50€ if you're outside of this age bracket.

Highlights of Trainworld Museum

The Trainworld Museum is the ultimate destination for both those interested in travel and history. The star attractions of the Trainworld Museum include model trains from throughout the ages, the most interesting of which is Pays de Waes, the oldest preserved locomotive train in Europe. Another great attraction is the driving simulator, in which visitors can see what it’s like to drive a train, as well as looking at the Belgian landscape and how it has changed over the years.

How to get to the Trainworld Museum in Brussels

The Trainworld Museum is easy to reach. Located just outside the Brussels city center, the easiest way to reach the museum is by taking the train to Schaarbeek Station, which is joined to the museum. Tram lines 7 and 92 will also drop you off near to the museum, as will bus lines 58 and 59. For those travelling to the museum by car, there is a car park located adjacent to the building.
