The Ramblas: Barcelona’s Heart and Soul
The Ramblas, or Las Ramblas when you’re in Spain, is one of the most famous and iconic boulevards of Barcelona. Stretching for approximately 1.2km from the Port Vell to Placa Catalunya, this street is hugely popular with both locals and travellers alike and provides one of the main thoroughfares of the city. Home to street-side cafés, bars, shops, and lined with trees, it’s a place to wander, shop, or simply sit with a coffee or a beer and watch the world go by. The Ramblas was described by Spanish poet Federico García Lorca as being "the only street in the world which I wish would never end.” It's an exciting destination in a city filled with history, culture and style.
