Take the kids to the top of Berlin TV Tower for its panoramic 360 degree city views. During the elevator ride, a guide will give some information on the exact measurements of the tower and what is to be seen from the top. Up on the terrace, you can walk around and have a drink, studying the maps and information panels placed strategically in all corners. The telescopes are always popular with kids. For lunch or dinner, be sure to make a reservation at the tower restaurant, and ask for a window seat, so you can enjoy the views.
If your children don't kick and scream at the word museum, familes can have fun at the Museum Island. This UNESCO Heritage Site combines neoclassical buildings with parks and gardens, so that even just walking around with the kids will be good fun. Inside one of the five major museums, they can discover some of the world’s finest architecture and art, from ancient civilizations to contemporary times. Just nearby, there are plenty of cafés and snack bars to regroup in.
The Checkpoint Charlie Museum is a good place to holiday with your teenagers who want to learn more about Berlin's recent history. They will probably have heard about the wall at school, but there’s nothing like being in the exact spot where it all happened.

In Berlin, kids will enjoy the Aquadom and Sealife Berlin, where there are over 5000 sea creatures to be seen in thematically arranged aquariums. Take a ride up into the unique Aquadom, a vertical cylinder tank containing a 1.000.000 l of water and abundant sea life. 1500 fish can be seen, and the tank is cleaned every day by divers, to the delight of young and old visitors who can watch the humans swim among the fish. At the interactive Rockpool, kids can pick out and touch shellfish and starfish. There are also daily feeding demonstrations, where professional guides and trainers introduce the animals and answer questions.
Another traditional Berlin attraction for families on holiday in Berlin are the Zoological Gardens, with over 20.000 animals and 1500 different species to discover.

For a fun family holiday in Berlin, the Legoland Discovery Centre in Berlin provides family attractions, fun education, and mental stimulation for kids of all ages! A family holiday in Berlin wouldn’t be complete without a stop here. All lego Fans should head to Potsdamer Platz where they will find workshops, guided tours, mini lego models, a toy shop, a café, and the lego studios 4D cinema.
For families in need of a break, some restful time in one of Berlin's Kindercafés is recommended. These cosy cafés pay special attention to the needs of little guests, making tea time more relaxing for everyone. Many cafés in the Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg areas are also equipped with corners for kids to sit, play or learn.
The city has many safe pedestrian zones to walk around with children on your Berlin family holiday. The wide sidewalks are convenient for families traveling with carriage-like strollers or several kids to look out for. If you are a cycling family, you’ll be delighted to know that the city has good bike lanes for a quick zip around its central spots. If you happen to visit Berlin for a family holiday during a local event or concert in the park, don’t forget to sample some street food. At the Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg, you can get local snacks, like German-style wiener würstchen—long tasty hotdogs.
For your city break with the family, public parks and open spaces abound in Berlin. The Tiergarten is one of the most popular places for families. The former royal hunting grounds have become a huge central park in which to stroll and have a picnic with your children. They will also enjoy the playground on the southeast side of the park.

My name is David Rickerson-Seidel and I have been part of the NH Hotel Group since September 2015 when the first NH Collection Hotel opened in Germany.
