What to visit on your express trip to Valencia in 3 days

1. Turia Gardens
Located in the old Turia river bed, this park goes across almost the whole city. Walking around you will find eighteen bridges from different historical eras and styles. In the park you will also find museums, bars, ponds and cafeterias.

2. Porta de la mar Square
The Porta de la mar square is located at Ciutat Vella, and it has an imperial triumphal arch, surrounded by centenary trees. This will take you to Carrer de la Pau, one of the most important streets.

3. The Cathedral
On the right side of Carrer de la Pau you can find the Cathedral, known as “la Seu”. The building has a Gothic Style, and was built on the site of an old mosque which in turn was also built on top of a Visigothic Cathedral. This cathedral took the place of a temple dedicated to Jupiter or Diana. You will love its architecture and the beauty of the construction.

4. Plaza de la Virgen
You will have to go around the Cathedral to reach this Roman era square. It has 3 of the most relevant constructions in Valencia: the Cathedral, the Virgen de los desamparados church, and the Generalitat. Here you will also find the Neptune fountain with eight women symbolizing the River’s irrigation ditches.

5. Torre de Serranos
It’s a Gothic monument from the 14th Century and one of the best preserved. It was once one of the entrance doors of Valencia. Go all the way up to the top, and contemplate the views the city has to offer.

6. City of Arts and Sciences
A must-see. The most important symbol of the city of Valencia, formed by the museum, the Oceanographic and the Hemispheric. You won’t regret it! Save at least a full morning or afternoon to make the most of the visit.

7. The central market
From the last century and over 8.000 square feet, this market opens from Mondays to Sundays from 7am to 3pm, and you will be able to taste the true Valencian gastronomy

8. Lonja de la seda
The building dates from the 15th Century, and has a European civil gothic style. To visit it you will have to go through the old streets, and you will discover the meaning of it, the honor of the city. Since 1996, this market is also considered an UNESCO World Heritage site.

9. Albufera Park
Don’t miss out on this natural park with the largest lake in Spain and a very particular fauna and flora.
